- Razaai is a gorgeous handcrafted mug that has been made using natural clay & other materials sourced from neighbouring villages around Puducherry and fired at very high temperatures.
- The artisan hand pinched the side around the handle to give it the shape of an apple which is one of its distinguishing features
- Aside from the unique shape, we also love the brown-ish interior glaze & the natural speckles on the exterior
• This lovely mug has been handcrafted in Puducherry, lovingly known as Pondy, a sleepy little coastal French town based in southern India
• In the year 1970, (legends in their own right) Deborah Smith & Ray Meeker travelled to Pondy and soon after established Golden bridge pottery in 1971, which in many ways put India on the ceramics world map & inspired a generation of artists
• In fact, most, if not all, potters from Pondy are alumni of Golden bridge pottery! So thank you, Deborah & Ray for bringing about a storm in the Indian ceramics & pottery industry!
